CC Spaulding Elementary School is placed in the bottom 50% of all schools in North Carolina for overall test scores (math proficiency is bottom 50%, and reading proficiency is bottom 50%) with a school performance grade of F. By the 3rd grade, these students are on average already 2 years behind their peers in reading and math.
When children start their academic careers with a large deficit, their ability to succeed in school diminishes.
These facts have motivated us to adopt the CC Spaulding Elementary School. Through our partnership, we intend to RAISE THE GRADE!
There are many needs to be met. With your support, we will take the first step in meeting some of the basic needs of the school’s student population of 297, through our 2021 Back to School Drive. Together, we will provide each child with a backpack, supplies paid field trip and a fund to cover extra-curricular activities through the academic year.
DONATE SCHOOL SUPPLIES
WOCC Projects of Hope will purchase a backpack and fill it with supplies using the funds you donate. Your donation will also cover the cost for a child’s extracurricular activities during the school year. The backpacks will be presented to each child at the WOCC Projects of Hope Back to School Fair. It will be held at the CC Spaulding Elementary School on Friday, August 20 at 3:00PM.
